Digitization can lead to new export markets

During the fashion week in August, CIFF and Virtual Stage invited curious people to participate in a panel debate, discussing “how to sell more and produce less”. The panel consisted of experts and professionals from the industry with different backgrounds and experiences: Trine Brodie, Designer at United Textil Group, Michael Harboe, CEO at Virsabi, Louise Boel, Head of Design programs at KEA DESIGN, Carsten Holm, Founder and CEO at WODEN A/S and Ditte Bjerring, Founder of Vonoa.

One of the main focus areas discussed during the panel debate centered around reaching wider audiences and new markets in the fashion industry through 3D visualizations, VR and AR. Ditte Bjerring, CEO and founder of Vonoa elaborates:

“The interesting thing was that we all agreed that virtual solutions and products are here to stay. There was no debate on the need for virtual solutions, but rather a need for strategic implementation. We found that companies see the value in integrating virtual solutions in their marketing and sales strategy as a key starting point. Therefore, I think that the Virtual Stage project is spot-on since it gives companies a starting point to integrating virtual solutions.”

The panel agreed that there is great potential in virtual technologies and that companies must dare to take the plunge and start experimenting. This is to elevate the company’s sales and exports, which have been challenged due to COVID-19. Ditte Bjerring advises on how companies should approach this transition: “Start small, take a look at your entire value chain, focus on what gives the most starting value and what excites you the most”.
